Dr. Kenneth Nelson is a Senior Advisor to Aledo Consulting with extensive experience with Medicaid and Medicare programs, as well as the private sector. His healthcare experience covers 30 years, including 20 years as the Medical Advisor, Office of Inspector General (OIG), U.S. Department Health and Human Services (DHHS) and 10 years in leadership positions at several government contractors, namely, Palmetto Government Benefits Administrators, where he served as Medical Director for the Medicare Durable Medical Equipment SADMERC, and TriCenturion, LLC, where he focused on program integrity and compliance issues. At SADMERC, he was intimately involved in Medicare decisions regarding coverage, coding, and pricing of Durable Medical Equipment.
Dr. Nelson received his BA with honors and his MD from Columbia University and he received his MPH from the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health. He served as a Health Fellow to the United States Senate. Dr. Nelson has authored over a dozen clinical and basic research articles. He is a Past Regent of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. His teaching activity included the Medicaid Integrity Institute of the US Department of Justice and the teaching faculty of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
