On February 17th – 19th, 2009, the Medical Technology Learning Institute (MTLI), an educational division of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) will hold the course “Medical Technology Reimbursement Specialist Workshop”. This year, the course will be held at the Westin Casuarina in Las Vegas, Nevada. This comprehensive, three-day workshop will feature over a dozen experts discussing the strategic and tactical issues in the field of reimbursement.
Dr. Robert McDonald, Founder and President of Aledo Consulting, has been invited to present two of the sessions at this workshop, which marks the third year of involvement by Aledo Consulting. One of Dr. McDonald’s sessions will be entitled “Technology Assessment” and will focus on the technology assessment in the reimbursement process; the second session is entitled “The World outside CMS”, in which Dr. McDonald will describe the reimbursement issues that are unique to the private sector payors, such as health plans and workers’ compensation insurers.
About this course, Dr. McDonald said, “Each year, I continue to be impressed with the breadth of the topic of reimbursement and its importance to medical technology companies. This course is a deep presentation of the reimbursement arena. Many faculty members who are experts in one part of the reimbursement process share with each other how much they learn about another part of the process during these sessions. I always pick up something new.”
