Louis I. Hochheiser, MD is a Senior Healthcare Advisor with Aledo Consulting. He comes to Aledo Consulting with exceptional leadership experience in hospital administration, health plan operations and academic medicine. Most recently, Dr. Hochheiser retired after serving four years as CEO of St. John’s Medical Center in Jackson, Wyoming. He was recognized for his accomplishments in this role by being named twice to Becker’s top 100 physician CEOs and, in 2016, he was named to the list of Becker’s 110 physicians to watch. Prior to this position, he served as the Chief Medical Leader for Humana Inc. In this role, he oversaw the technology assessment, clinical policy development and policy implementation, as well as the Humana medical review teams. He was instrumental in developing the Humana strategy in addressing molecular diagnostic services. The early chapter of Dr. Hochheiser’s career was in academic medicine; he chaired the Departments of Family Medicine at Brown University and the University of Vermont. At the latter, he holds the position of Professor Emeritus. Dr. Hochheiser’s interests lie in simultaneously improving the quality and efficiency of care, especially for seniors. He enjoys complex challenges that simultaneously address innovative care redesign, health care policy, and health care market forces.
